The Challenge
Development managers lacked a clear, scalable way to identify coaching priorities across their teams. Coaching efforts were often reactive, inconsistent, and time-intensive, relying on fragmented data sources rather than actionable insights.
As a result:
- Coaching quality varied significantly across managers
- Time was spent analyzing data rather than coaching
- High-impact development opportunities were often missed
The Opportunity
To improve coaching effectiveness at scale, there was an opportunity to leverage AI to analyze performance patterns and surface targeted insights helping managers focus their efforts where they would have the greatest impact.
The goal was not to add more data but to make existing data usable, actionable, and decision-ready.
My Approach
I applied a structured, strategy-first approach aligned with business outcomes:

Conceptualized an AI-enabled framework to unify data and generate coaching insights

Developed a CustomGPT solution to interpret data and generate actionable recommendations

The Solution
I designed and implemented an AI-powered coaching assistant by developing CustomGPT instructions and integrating them with existing data sources.
The solution connects:

This enables the system to analyze trends and generate targeted coaching recommendations, helping development managers prepare for more focused and effective coaching conversations.
